New Movie Releases in the UK and Ireland
This weekend, two new movies are leading the pack in the UK and Ireland: Karate Kid: Legends and The Salt Path. Jonathan Destin’s Karate Kid: Legends is opening in 552 locations, which is more than its predecessor, The Karate Kid, which debuted in 446 locations in 2010. The new movie, a reimagining of the 1984 original, is expected to perform well, with an opening weekend box office of £4.9 million.

Karate Kid: Legends stars Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, who reprise their roles as Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso. The movie follows the story of a kung fu prodigy who must win a karate competition with the help of his mentors. With its exciting action sequences and heartwarming story, Karate Kid: Legends is sure to be a hit with audiences.
The Salt Path: A New Drama from Black Bear
Meanwhile, The Salt Path is opening in 525 locations for Black Bear. The UK drama, directed by Marianne Elliott, stars Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs as a couple who embark on a year-long coastal hike after losing their home. The film has already performed well in international markets, including the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand, and is expected to do well in the UK and Ireland.
