Sean "Diddy" Combs Accused of Sexual Assault and Violence
Introduction to the Allegations
On Thursday, an anonymous former employee of Sean "Diddy" Combs came forward, accusing him of sexual assault and violence. The witness, who testified under the pseudonym "Mia", worked as a personal assistant and then as an executive for Combs from 2009 to 2017.
Working Conditions and Abuse
Mia described her time under Combs as "chaotic" and "toxic". Being his assistant was a relentless job with a starting salary of $50,000. Mia said she worked for five days without sleep and used drugs to stay awake. She looked down and spoke in a nervous, gentle voice, saying that Combs had "sexually attacked" her several times.
Control Over Cassie Ventura’s Life
Mia was close to Combs’ friend Cassie "Cassie" Ventura and described her relationship as "like sisters". She said Combs had control over almost every aspect of Ventura’s life and career, including her appearance, music releases, and even her nails. He paid for Ventura’s houses and cars and took them away from her "when he was upset" or "she couldn’t get on the phone", said Mia.
Witnessing Violence
When asked if she witnessed violence in Combs and Ventura’s relationship, Mia stuttered and took severe breaths. "I saw how he attacked her, I threw him on the floor, I cracked her head. I followed him," she said. Mia also recalled an incident where Combs came to Ventura’s apartment, supposedly began to beat her, and Mia and Ventura’s stylist, Deonte Nash, jumped in to stop him.
Incidents of Abuse
Mia said she saw Combs pick up Ventura and "he slammed her head into the corner of the bed". Ventura’s head bled and she developed a scar on her forehead. Mia said at the moment she feared Combs "would kill her". On another occasion, Mia and Ventura decided to go to a party in Los Angeles, against Combs’ instructions, and he suddenly appeared, made eye contact with Mia, and attacked Ventura.
Aftermath and Consequences
The next day, Mia was informed that she had been suspended without pay. "Puff said I was out of focus," she said. The testimony of Mia’s certificate corresponds to many of the events described by Ventura, Nash, and other witnesses. Combs is accused of leading a criminal enterprise with security forces and other employees who allegedly helped him commit crimes and cover them up for decades.
Potential Consequences for Combs
If convicted, Combs could spend the rest of his life behind bars. The allegations against him are severe, and the testimonies of Mia and other witnesses provide a disturbing insight into the life of one of the music industry’s most powerful figures.
