Introduction to the Film and Audiovisual Markets in Europe Alliance
The film and audiovisual markets in Europe are facing increasing pressure, which has led to the formation of the Film and Audiovisual Markets in Europe Alliance (FAME Alliance). This alliance was created after a series of meetings in 2023, where industry professionals discussed the future of physical European film markets.
Goals of the FAME Alliance
The main goals of the FAME Alliance include preserving physical markets of all sizes across Europe, ensuring that smaller companies from less economically developed regions are not excluded from attending larger, more expensive markets. The alliance also aims to provide a unified voice for film and audiovisual markets when discussing funding with regional, national, and European agencies.
How the FAME Alliance Will Operate
The FAME Alliance will operate without a central figurehead and will regularly organize markets and festivals throughout the year. This approach will allow the alliance to be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the industry.
