Introduction to the Case
Rapper and actor Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, testified in a Manhattan court on Thursday. He claimed that Sean "Diddy" Combs was behind the bombing of his Porsche in 2012. Kid Cudi believed this because he was romantically involved with Cassie Ventura, who was also involved with Combs at the time.
The Accusations Against Combs
Combs is accused of various crimes, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice. He has denied all the allegations, claiming he is innocent. Kid Cudi was called to the stand to testify against Combs, as the prosecution tries to show how Combs used his employees to control women and carry out violent attacks.
Kid Cudi’s Testimony
Kid Cudi met Cassie Ventura in 2008, and they started dating in 2011. Ventura had told Kid Cudi that her relationship with Combs was over. However, in December 2011, Kid Cudi received a call from Combs’ assistant, Capricorn Clark, saying that Combs was with an employee at his Hollywood Hills house and wanted to talk to Kid Cudi. When Kid Cudi arrived at his home, he found that his Christmas presents had been opened, and his dog was locked in the bathroom.
The Incident with the Porsche
Weeks later, Kid Cudi’s Porsche 911 was set on fire in his driveway. A Molotov cocktail was found in the car, which was damaged beyond repair. Kid Cudi believes that Combs was behind the attack. He testified that when he met with Combs after the incident, Combs denied any involvement, giving him a "very cold look" and saying, "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Cassie Ventura’s Involvement
Cassie Ventura had testified earlier that Combs had threatened to harm Kid Cudi when he found out about their relationship. Kid Cudi said that he knew Combs had something to do with the attack on his car. Years later, Combs apologized to Kid Cudi for his actions, but did not specifically mention the car incident.
Cross-Examination
During cross-examination, Kid Cudi was asked about Cassie Ventura’s involvement with both him and Combs. He admitted that Ventura had a "double life" and was still seeing Combs while they were together. Kid Cudi also said that he was disappointed to find out that Ventura had decided to return to Combs.
New Evidence
The defense also brought up the fact that female DNA was found on Kid Cudi’s destroyed Porsche. However, Kid Cudi claimed that he was not aware of this evidence and had never heard about the results of the police investigation.
