Introduction to Alex Warren

In the midst of many known names in the top 10, one stands out as this year’s breakout so far. With his song positioned at number 2 in the Billboard top 100, Alex Warren is taking over the top position with his brooding ballad that researches an extraordinary rush of romantic love and spiritual connection.

Overcoming Life’s Challenges

Warren’s life was not always easy. His father died of kidney cancer when Alex was just 9 years old, leaving him, his brother, and two sisters to deal with an alcoholic mother who stepped out of the house for 18 years. Despite these challenges, Warren found solace in music. "I wanted to be a singer since I was a child, and my father bought my first guitar for me," he says. "Funny enough, I only started writing when he was gone. Music became an outlet for me to process my trauma."

Rise to Fame

Warren’s assets of Carlsbad, born and Catholic, was not always so fantastic. However, he persevered and continued to write and post songs on Vine, YouTube, and TikTok. He eventually co-founded the Hype House Collective and moved to Los Angeles, where he scored a handful of like-minded video manufacturers. With these TikTok creators, Warren’s personal YouTube channel organized almost 3 million subscribers, and his TikTok account had 14 million followers.

Success with "Usually"

Warren’s song "Usually" is a radiant love song that touches on the beginning of his relationship with his girlfriend and how her extraordinary nature raised the singer. The song’s power lies in its ability to connect with listeners on a deep level. "We wrote ‘Usually’ in December last year, recorded it in January, and released it in February," says Warren. "In the music industry, this is a crazy, quick turnaround, but we did it because we knew immediately how good it was."

Influences and Faith

Warren’s music is influenced by his Christian upbringing and his love for gospel music. "I grew up Christian and listened to a lot of gospel music, so that breath of worship music definitely gets into my songs," he says. However, Warren also has a rocky relationship with Christianity, having questioned his faith after losing his father and mother. Despite this, he believes that his faith has helped him to keep his parents close to him.

Collaborations and Teamwork

Warren has collaborated with several artists, including Ed Sheeran, who has become a friend and mentor. "I always loved Ed Sheeran, Adele, and Lewis Capaldi," he says. "I would say they were my greatest influences growing up and when I started writing music." Warren’s team, including his manager Brian Sokolik and co-writers and producers Aaron Yaron, Cal Shapiro, and Mags Duval, have been instrumental in his success.

Upcoming Projects

Warren is currently working on his next album, possibly a "Chapter 2." He has teased a duet with Jelly Roll called "Bloodline," which will be released soon. "I think that with the songs that I write now, I have grown a lot, and there is so much more variety, but everything fits perfectly for this next project we are working on," he says. With his unique sound and dedication to his craft, Alex Warren is sure to continue making waves in the music industry.
