Meet DJ Steady: The 10-Year-Old Music Sensation
DJ Steady, aka Eden, is a 10-year-old girl from Milton Keynes who is taking the music world by storm. With a passion for jungle music, she has perfected her DJing skills since her father bought her a few decks when she was just eight years old.
From Birthday Parties to Music Festivals
Within a few weeks of getting her decks, Eden organized a show at her own ninth birthday party and became a finalist at Mix Master, a competition for adult DJs. She has since played countless gigs at event venues such as the Unit Nine Club in Milton Keynes. Eden’s music taste differs from her friends, who prefer pop music and dance, while she enjoys jungle, drum and bass, and Afrohouse. "I like quick music, not music with lots of texts," she says.
Rising to Fame
Eden’s talent has earned her a spot at music festivals throughout the UK and even in Ibiza. She must practice her sets during the day, as she is not allowed to practice after 8:30 p.m. Despite her young age, Eden is confident when she’s behind the decks. "Before I go on, I’m a bit nervous. When I’m up there, I can’t help but smile, but sometimes I don’t smile because I concentrate. I just feel good when I’m up there," she says.
International Dreams
After performing in Ibiza later this year, Eden hopes to take her talents to other countries. Next weekend, she will play her first festival in Wales, where she hopes to meet Becky Hill backstage. Her mother, Maria, is proud of her daughter’s achievements and says, "It’s stunning. She swings from the crowd. She really wants to make sure that children who come to family events know that it’s possible, no matter how old you are, to follow your dreams."
Breaking Barriers
Eden’s success is proving that age is no barrier to success in the music industry. "A large part of the industry is from the age of 18, but she proves that 10 is no longer a barrier," says Maria. With her unique talent and dedication, DJ Steady is an inspiration to young people everywhere, showing that with hard work and passion, anything is possible.
