"Cat on the Street to Find Out" chronicles Stevens’ career, from his humble beginnings as a recording artist in the 1960s to his rise to superstardom in the 1970s with iconic records such as "The First Cut is the Deepest" and "Tea for the Tillerman." The book also delves into his life-changing experience in 1975, which inspired him to convert to Islam, change his name to Yusuf Islam, and temporarily leave the music industry behind.
A Return to Music and Accolades
After a hiatus, Yusuf/Stevens made a steady return to the music scene in the 1990s. He has since released several albums, including "Another Cup" in 2006, his first pop album in almost 30 years, and his latest album, "King of a Land" in 2023.
