Introduction to a Powerful Film

Beta Cinema has acquired international sales rights to the film "Each of Us", a World War II drama consisting of four stories directed by four different women. The film is currently being directed by Anne Zohra Berrached, Neus Ballús, Stina Wernefels, and Anna Jadowska in Poland, Germany, and Spain.

The Cast and Crew

The cast includes Diane Kruger, Carla Juri, Aida Folch, and Ninel Geiger, with the film written by Eva Pauné and Mirjam Ziegler and inspired by true stories. The film is produced internationally by Spanish Alhena production, Germany’s Bon Voyage films, the Switzerland-Turnus film, and Poland’s Blick Productions. The producers are Maria Bichharska, Miguel Bueno, Amir Hamz, Norbert Llaras, Michael Steiger, and Anita Wasser.

The Storyline

"Each of Us" follows the interconnected stories of four women from different countries who struggle to preserve their art and humanity in the midst of the brutal conditions of the Ravensbruck all-women concentration camp. Their lives are connected by a young girl who brings both difficulties and hope. The film explores the themes of solidarity, quiet strength, and hope in the face of unimaginable adversity.

Unique Filmmaking Approach

The film is shot in a unique way, with each director focusing on a different protagonist, offering individual attention from screenwriting to mise-en-scène. This approach allows for a deep and strong connection to the protagonists and their individual journeys. The research of resilience and solidarity in the face of unimaginable adversity is both timely and timeless.

Production and Support

The project was developed with the support of Media Creative Europe in Spain, ICAA, ICEC, TVE, TVC, in Germany by Arte, SR, SWR, RBB, BR, MDM, Moin & MBB, in Switzerland by BAK, Zurich Filmfund, RGB, and in Poland by PISF and WFDIF. Beta Cinema’s acquisition of the film follows its premiere selection of Fatih Akin’s "Amrum", Bill Nighy-guided street film "500 Miles", Spanish debut "The Remains of Them", and Italian comedy "US Palmse".

Conclusion

"Each of Us" is a powerful and timely film that explores the human spirit in the face of adversity. With its unique filmmaking approach and talented cast and crew, the film is sure to resonate with audiences worldwide. Thorsten Ritter, Executive Vice President of Beta Cinema, notes that the film’s themes of resilience and solidarity are both timely and timeless, making it a must-see for audiences everywhere.
