Allegations Against Smokey Robinson
Smokey Robinson, a renowned figure, has been sued by four former female employees who claim to have experienced severe misconduct during their employment. The lawsuit, filed in the Los Angeles Supreme Court, alleges sexual battery, assault, and false imprisonment, with the women seeking compensation of at least $50 million.
The Lawsuit Details
The lawsuit, which names Smokey Robinson and his wife Frances as defendants, outlines the experiences of four women, referred to as Jane Doe, who worked for the couple in various capacities. The women claim that Robinson sexually assaulted them during their employment, with some alleging that the attacks occurred multiple times.
Allegations Against Smokey Robinson
The first Jane Doe worked for Robinson from January 2023 to February 2024 and claims to have been attacked at least seven times. She alleges that Robinson would call her to his bedroom, lock the door, and assault her despite her protests. The second Jane Doe, who worked for Robinson from May 2014 to February 2020, claims to have been attacked on at least 23 different occasions. The alleged attacks began in 2016, when Robinson sent her text messages asking her to meet him in areas of the residence where there were no cameras.
More Allegations Emerge
The third Jane Doe, who worked for Robinson from February 2012 to April 2024, alleges that she was repeatedly raped at least 20 times. In one instance, she claims that Robinson offered her $500 for oral sex, which she rejected. The fourth Jane Doe, who worked as a personal assistant and cook for Frances from October 2006 to April 2024, alleges that she was first attacked in 2007 when Robinson accompanied her to his house in Las Vegas.
Failure to Act
The women also claim that Frances Robinson created a hostile work environment by using "ethnically pejorative words and language" and failing to take proper measures to prevent misconduct, despite being aware of previous allegations of similar attacks. The lawsuit alleges that the women did not report the incidents earlier due to fear of losing their jobs, fear of reprisal, or embarrassment, and that some were also afraid that it could affect their immigration status.
Response from Smokey Robinson’s Team
Representatives of Smokey Robinson have not immediately responded to requests for comment on the allegations. The lawsuit is ongoing, and the women are seeking justice and compensation for the alleged misconduct they suffered during their employment.
