Secuoya Content Group Sees Significant Growth

The Secuoya Content Group, a major Spanish production company, has announced a remarkable increase in profits and sales. According to their latest financial data, the company’s profit has almost doubled, with record levels achieved in sales. This success can be attributed to the strong performance of Secuoya Studios, which has become a leading benchmark in the industry for content creation, production, post-production, and sales.

Financial Highlights

The company’s EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) rose by 85% to €59.1 million for the 2024 financial year, while income increased by 33% to €142 million. Additionally, Secuoya recorded a significant increase in adjusted EBITDA, EBIT growth, and a 214% rise in group profit.

Factors Contributing to Success

The outstanding results are a direct result of Secuoya Studios’ strong performance, which has become the main pillar of added value for the company. Last year, the studio produced five series and four films, totaling 156 hours of content, after doubling its capacity and establishing a production center in Colombia. This expansion has enabled the company to increase its production output and cater to growing demand.

Recent Productions and Partnerships

Some of the latest titles produced by Secuoya include "Lot 39," a Colombia-Spain co-production, as well as "Terra Alta," "Arcadia," "The Crossing," and "Parents." The company has also partnered with Blackbox Multimedia to develop and produce new content, including "The Castaways" and "This Time Next Year."

Future Plans and Ambitions

According to Raúl Berdonés, founder and executive chairman of Secuoya Content Group, the company made a bold decision four years ago to shift from a service-based business model to a company-driven, scalable, and competitive model. This strategic move has paid off, with Secuoya now planning to bridge the gap between Hollywood and Spain. The company’s most ambitious production to date is a modern take on "Zorro," directed by Javier Qintas and starring Miguel Berdeau.

Industry Competition

Secuoya is not the only company expanding its reach in the US market. Rival company Mediapro has also established a US studio, with projects featuring John Turturro and Melissa Leo. As the demand for high-quality content continues to grow, Secuoya Content Group is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and maintain its position as a leading player in the industry.
