You live and learn. There’s nothing worse than opening your takeout when you’re hungry and realizing it’s the most unappetizing meal you’ve ever ordered. This happened to a guest who was trying to prepare his tartare because he didn’t know why it was delivered raw.

In a now viral post, a man shared what he thought was an AI image of raw meat and an egg that would be cooked after the order was placed. He wrote above side-by-side pictures of steak tartare, a popular French appetizer consisting of minced, high-quality raw beef prepared with various spices and often served with raw egg yolk on top, which he clearly had no idea even existed.
Confusion and Disgust
Confused when his raw meat arrived, he took a bite, was repulsed by it, and thought he could make it taste better by cooking it. Well, that didn’t go down well either. He tweeted over a picture of what looked like a sad burger patty, "Ate one bite and it was disgusting so I went to work but then tried it and realized it was 10 times worse like this."
Public Reaction
Naturally, people picked this guy apart in the thread of his post and were shocked that he had no idea what tartare was. Comments included, "The level of stupidity to this point is unreal. Real question…how often do you go outside?" and "This is an example of what we call an ‘uncultured pig.’" Another joked, "Slamming steak tartare on the door, not knowing what it is, fussing about it being raw, and making a hockey puck out of it is absolutely top-notch troglodyte tech bro behavior."
Defense Against the Critics
The man didn’t let these comments go without resistance. He ran back to defend his lack of steak tartare knowledge, writing: "To the haters, one white boy dares to say he never knew such a thing existed." This response showed that even in the face of ridicule, he stood by his ignorance as a legitimate excuse for not understanding the dish.
