Introduction to a New Horror-Comedy Film
A new horror-comedy film is ready to skewer Generation X culture. Director Todd Berger helms the satirical slasher film for Live Nation Studios, which recently began production. The film is a tribute to Generation X and plays popular songs from the 1990s.
The Ensemble Cast
The ensemble is led by genre favorites such as Skeet Ulrich, Alicia Witt, Jolene, and Megan Suri. The cast also includes comedy stars Jon Heder, Pete Holmes, Natasha Leggero, Morgan Jay, Trevor Wallace, and Steph Tolev.
Plot Summary
The film centers on a group of longtime friends and their families sharing a remote cabin after a funeral. When a killer begins hunting the group, the friends must confront the darkest elements of their past.
Production Team
Berger directs the film from a script by the Emmy winner Daniel Radosh. Producers include Live Nation Studios and Mason Novick for MXN Entertainment. Ryan Kroft is executive producer for Live Nation Studios.
Expectations from the Film
“Horror and comedy to 90s music results in a breakthrough for Live Nation Studios," said Kroft, head of film and television at Live Nation Studios. "With this fan-favorite cast and phenomenal production team, the film is destined to be a horror hit.”
Inspiration Behind the Film
Berger adds: “When I saw Scream in the theater as a teenager, it blew my mind because it was a slasher movie full of people my age who talked the way we actually talked. But over the years, I noticed something about slasher protagonists: they didn’t age like the rest of us. Now it’s a dream come true, a horror comedy about fellow members of that generation.”
Challenges of Horror Comedies
Novick says in his own statement: "Horror comedies are one of the hardest genres to land. It’s so important to deliver both laughs and scares. We’re so lucky to have a cast that includes both veteran horror actors and a bunch of really funny comedians. That way we have both great jokes and great kills."
