Sharjah Airport’s Operational Growth
Overview of Q3 2025 Performance
Sharjah Airport recorded robust operational growth in the third quarter of 2025. The number of passengers increased to 5,127,120, an increase of 16.7 percent compared to the same period in 2024 with 4.39 million passengers.
Aircraft Movements and Cargo Throughput
In terms of aircraft movements, the total number of scheduled and unscheduled flights reached 30,737, an increase of 10.7 percent compared to 27,758 flights in the same period last year. Meanwhile, cargo throughput rose 3.9 percent, with 48,073 tons handled, compared to 46,284 tons in the same period.
Notable Growth in Sea Air Freight
Sea air freight recorded remarkable growth with an increase of 32.8 percent from 3,236 tons to 4,296 tons.
Statement from Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority
Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: "The results reflect the airport’s continued operational growth and its crucial role in supporting the aviation sector in line with Sharjah’s long-term development plans." He added that the strong performance was the result of sustained investments in infrastructure, capacity expansion and digital transformation to improve efficiency and passenger experience.

Sharjah Airport continues to implement its ambitious strategy to increase air traffic and passenger traffic by expanding destinations, improving cargo and logistics facilities and introducing innovative digital solutions.
