Limitations for Future Skin Treatments

What people often don’t know is that fake freckles can complicate future skin treatments. If you later notice spots or redness on your face, treatments such as laser, IPL, or peels may be less effective or risky. Even though semi-permanent freckles appear to disappear over time, residual pigment often remains in the skin, which can stay there for years and react or get damaged during skin treatment.

Trying Out Freckles Safely

If you’d like to try out freckles without any risk, you might want to do it with makeup. You can then wash them off again in the evening. For those who have applied fake freckles to their face, it’s essential to take good care of the skin. Just like with a tattoo, the skin must be given a chance to heal after treatment. Keeping the skin clean with water and a mild detergent is crucial. During the healing period, it’s necessary to avoid sunlight and not scratch the scabs. Afterwards, good sun protection is essential, as UV radiation can cause the pigment to fade or discolor more quickly.

Sun Protection for Sensitive Skin

Having real freckles also requires good sun protection. Skin with freckles is sensitive because freckles are a reaction to sunlight – the skin tries to protect itself by producing additional pigments. Therefore, being careful of the sun is vital to prevent further damage or discoloration.
