Dolly Parton Addresses Health Concerns
Dolly Parton took to social media to reassure fans who became upset after her sister made comments about the American country singer’s health and expressed fears that she was close to death. The Grammy winner posted a video of herself from the set of a film shoot, announcing “I’m not dead yet!”
Recent Health Issues
On Tuesday, Parton’s sister Freida shared a post in which some people suggested that Dolly’s recent health problems were terminal. "Last night I prayed all night for my sister Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling well lately," Freida Parton wrote on Facebook. The 79-year-old Queen of Country also announced last month that she was postponing a number of scheduled shows in Las Vegas to deal with some unspecified health issues.
Reassuring Fans
In the two-minute video, Parton wore a red and black country-western outfit and said, "Do I look sick to you? I work hard here." She explained that she neglected herself after the death of her longtime husband Carl Dean in March but is now undergoing treatment. Parton added that she was “not ready to die” and “not done working yet.” She stated, "There’s just a lot of rumors going around. But I thought if you heard it from me, you’d know I was fine."
Upcoming Honors
Parton appeared in films such as “Steel Magnolias” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” She will be awarded an honorary Oscar in November, a testament to her enduring legacy in the entertainment industry. With her signature wit and charm, Parton continues to inspire fans and prove that she is still very much active and dedicated to her craft.
