Introduction to Navigator

A former British Olympic medalist has collected millions of pounds for his digital advertising from a productive supporter of SMEs based in Great Britain. Navigator, founded by Steve Rowbotham, who won the Beijing Games Bronze in 2008, will announce a financing of £4 million from IW Capital.

The Deal

The deal is expected to be officially announced later this week. Navigator works with brands, including Formula 1, HSBC and L’Oreal, so that they can address consumers more effectively online.

How Navigator Works

It combines advertisers with data collected via aircraft platforms and travel booking platforms at a time when consumers are increasingly deciding not to approve cookies that pursue their online activities. According to Navigator, it has two billion fully maintained data points with which brands can address consumers.

Reaction to the Investment

Mr. Rowbotham described the investment as a "main milestone for Navigator". It enables them to accelerate platform innovations and scale their commercial footprint in order to bring their technology to more travel brands through strategic partnerships. As an Olympic athlete, Mr. Rowbotham understands the value of a high-performance team that is driven to a common goal.

About IW Capital

IW Capital has supported a number of companies, including Digital Therapeutics Providers Walk and Reconome, a renovator of IT equipment. "Navigator solves one of the most urgent challenges in digital marketing – how to provide effective advertising in a world in which privacy is of the greatest importance," said Charlie Lyon Carroll, investment director at IW Capital.
