Ariana Grande Takes Home Top Prize at 2025 Video Music Awards
Ariana Grande won the main prize of the year at the 2025 Video Music Awards on Sunday evening. Grande entered the stage with the director of the music video Christian Breslauer to accept the award. She expressed her gratitude to her fans, stating, "I want to start again with my fans, thank you very much. I love you with all my heart. I have been since my teenager since we first crossed the paths and I will be becoming all my life." She also acknowledged the role of art in her life, saying, "Art has been a safe space for me since I was a child."

The singer continued, "I am so grateful that I can do this with my life and have so hard loving and supportive fans. Thank you for grown with me and support me like a person, navigate in real time, the creative itching must be scratched next, be it acting, music, music theater or a little tour." She also mentioned that her project is about healing from trauma and creating security in one’s life, which is a lifelong process and a daily exercise.
The Music Video and Its Significance
The price is known as the most coveted award at the VMAS. In the music video, Grande is prosthetic with make-up to play an older woman named Peaches who uses a process to extinguish a relationship from her head and visit four other important memories of her life again. However, she experiences a memory from her father’s perspective that he mourned her death. Grande’s real father, Edward Buttera, plays the video next to her.
Other Wins and Awards
Earlier at night, Grande also won a Moon-Man Trophy for the best pop artist, in which she said: "Thanks to my therapists and gay people, I love you!" Other remarkable victories of the night were Sabrina Carpenter for the album of the year, Lady Gaga for the artist of the year, and Alex Warren for the best new artist.
Upcoming Projects and Tours
Next for Grande, she will portray Glinda the good witch again in Wicked: Forever, which will be published in cinemas on November 21. With regard to music, after seven years, she will take a big return to tour from June 6, 2026.
