Introduction to Prince Hisahito
The Japanese Prince Hisahito is the first male royal to reach adulthood for 40 years. The nephew of Emperor Naruhito, Hisahito, received a black silk and a paint crown in his coming-of-age ceremony that marks the beginning of his royal adult life. The 19-year-old Hisahito is the second in the series of Chrysanthemen throne, named after the flower, which serves as the seal of the imperial house, and will probably become emperor one day.
Coming-of-Age Ceremony
"Thank you for giving the crown at the coming-of-age ceremony today," said Hisahito. "I will fulfill my duties and are aware of my responsibility as an adult member of the imperial family." Due to the desire to concentrate on his college recordings, Hisahito’s coming-of-age rituals comes one year after he became 18 when he reached the legal adulthood. Since nobody is currently available to take the throne to Hisahito, the guideline was only examined again for male succession.
Succession Rules
Emperor Naruhito has a daughter, Princess Aiko, but the 23-year-old was excavated by the current successor rules of the royal family. Tradition dictates that only one man can continue the imperial line, according to a legend from 2600 years. Akishino, Emperor Naruhito’s younger brother, was the last man who, in 1985 with Hisahito, reached the youngest of the 16-member imperial family in the family.
The Future of the Monarchy
The couple are the only two male heirs who are younger than Naruhito, and the lack of male successors quickly reflects aging and shrinking population. Historians believe that the monarchy has existed for 1,500 years. So far, the female successor of the throne had been allowed, with Japan having eight female emperors in his history. Emperor Gosakuramachi last ruled between 1762 and 1770, but none of the female emperors produced an heir during their reign.
Royal Succession Debate
Japan discussed the royal successor for decades and recommended an important government committee in 2005 that he should go to the oldest child regardless of sex. It seemed to pave the way for the emperor’s daughter to rise to the Chrysanthemen throne, but Hisahito’s birth the debate concluded again the following year. Princess Aiko, the only daughter of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, cannot be the successor of her father, although she is supported by a large part of the public as a future monarch.
Future of the Royal Family
However, conservative urges the royal budget to bring distant male relatives back into the wrinkle. In January 2022, a conservative expert committee proposed to adopt male descendants of royal families that are no longer distant to continue the male descent. While the same body asked the government to maintain its male succession, they asked female members to maintain their royal status after marriage and continue their official duties. Royal daughters are currently forced to leave the family after marriage. Hisahito’s sister Mako moved to the USA after getting her university friend Komuro.
