New Movie Releases in the UK and Ireland

This weekend, several new movies are hitting theaters in the UK and Ireland. One of the most highly anticipated releases is the latest installment in the Conjuring series, The Magic: Last Rites, which is opening in a record 620 theaters across Great Britain and Ireland.

The Conjuring Series

The Magic: Last Rites is the broadest start in the series to date, surpassing the previous record held by The Conjuring 2, which opened in 504 theaters in 2016. The film follows paranormal investigators Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as they travel to Pennsylvania to help a family defeat a demon in their home. The movie is directed by Michael Chaves, who also directed The Devil Made Me Do It.

Other New Releases

In addition to The Magic: Last Rites, several other new movies are opening in theaters this weekend. Ethan Coen’s Honey, Not! is a crime comedy starring Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Evans, and is opening in 388 theaters. The movie follows a private investigator who becomes embroiled in a series of strange deaths in a small town.

Drama and Thriller Releases

Sony Pictures Entertainment is releasing the queer drama On Fast Horses in 203 theaters. The film features a star-studded cast, including Jacob Elordi, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Will Poulter, and is directed by Daniel Minahan. The Height is releasing two films this weekend: The Cut, a boxing thriller starring Orlando Bloom, and Christy, a coming-of-age drama that premiered at the Berlinale in 2025.

Independent Releases

Several independent films are also opening in theaters this weekend. The Brave, a family drama directed by Jasmin Gordon, is opening in 14 theaters via Metfilm. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and has played at several other festivals. Metfilm is also releasing the Ukrainian documentary Sanatorium in five theaters in the UK, while Eclipse Pictures is releasing it in six theaters in Ireland.

International Releases

Dreamz Entertainment is releasing several Indian films this weekend, including Ghaati and Baaghi 4. The historical thriller The Bengal Files is also being released by Zee International. Other releases include the psychological thriller Row and the event publication Among Other Things – NT Live 2025.

Classic Re-Releases

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Park Circus is re-releasing the classic film Jumanji in 413 theaters. The movie has become a beloved favorite among audiences and is sure to attract both old and new fans.

Holdover Titles

One of the biggest holdover titles this weekend is the comedy The Roses, starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film has been performing well at the box office and is expected to continue to attract audiences in the coming weeks.
