Introduction to a Smoother Travel Experience
Imagine that you can go through airport safety without having to remove your laptop or throw away that bottle of water that you have just bought – this will soon be a reality for travelers at the Dubai International Airport. The airport is implementing a new technology that will make traveling easier, more smoothly, and stress-free because you don’t have to take anything out of your pocket.
Implementation of New Scanners and AI Technologies
Dubai Airports is currently testing new scanners and AI technologies with which passengers will no longer have to remove objects such as laptops, perfumes, creams, and liquids over 100 ml. In May 2025, Dubai Aviation Engineering Project awarded a contract to install Advanced Checkpoint Screening technologies in all three terminals from DXB. The aim is to improve security, improve operational efficiency, and rationalize passenger flow.
State-of-the-Art Scanners
These state-of-the-art scanners offer high-resolution 3D imaging, so that travelers can keep their electronics and liquids in their pockets. This will significantly reduce processing times and improve convenience. Since passengers will no longer have to remove laptops and liquids over 100 ml, this will make the journey for passengers with Dubai Airport much more smooth and comfortable.
Managing Passenger Traffic
Passenger traffic at DXB has risen steadily and broken records. To manage this growth, Dubai Airports is adopting new technologies and innovative solutions that aim to offer a faster, smoother, and seamless travel experience. According to Dubai Airports, DXB has completed 46 million passengers in the first half of 2025, a 2.3 percent increase compared to the most busy first half in its history in the previous year.
Expansion and Future Growth
This increase in traffic underlines the need for more intelligent and efficient solutions to support the continued expansion and future growth of the airport. Dubai Airports is currently testing the new screening technology on Terminal 3, which is used exclusively by Emirates Airlines. The project involves replacing approximately 140 handheld machines, which requires some infrastructure changes and will take time to complete.
Implementation of AI-Driven Systems
In addition to the new screening technology, Dubai Airports is also working on the implementation of AI-driven systems that aim to reduce the turnaround times of aircraft and further improve operational efficiency. This will make the travel experience even smoother and more comfortable for passengers. The airport is committed to providing a faster, more efficient, and more seamless travel experience for its passengers.
