Introduction to Starbucks’ New Protein Menu

You can skip the tired old protein shake, as Starbucks now serves profits in one grande. The coffee giant is set to introduce protein cold foam and protein lattes to their menu. Each protein cold foam contains 15 grams of protein per grande and comes in various flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, matcha, banana, brown sugar, salted caramel, and even sugar-free vanilla.

Protein Cold Foam and Latte Options

Autumn fans can also enjoy seasonal pumpkin and pecan flavored protein foam. The protein-bearded lattes, made with 2% protein-packed milk, contain between 15 and 36 grams of protein per grande, giving your morning a gifted boost in the gym. Although the protein latte flavors are not yet known, they are expected to be a hit among customers.

Online Debate and Reactions

The news of Starbucks’ protein cold foam and lattes has stirred an online debate, with fans and skeptics alike sharing their thoughts on social media. Some are curious and cautiously optimistic, wondering how the flavors will taste with the new protein twist. Others are not impressed, with one user jokingly saying "30g protein and 300g sugar, the best of both worlds."

The Science Behind the Protein Cold Foam

Some users are fascinated by the science behind the protein cold foam, wanting to try it from a taste and texture perspective and understand the chemistry that the protein will expose in the foam. This curiosity is a testament to the interest and excitement surrounding Starbucks’ new protein menu.

A Look Back at the Pumpkin Spice Latte

Before the protein cold foam and lattes, Starbucks had another iconic drink – the pumpkin spice latte (PSL). The PSL was launched in October 2003 and was slowly becoming a caffeinated cult favorite. The drink’s creator, Peter Dukes, revealed that the PSL was not an instant hit, but rather a result of rigorous taste tests and experimentation with different flavors.

The Creation of the Pumpkin Spice Latte

The PSL was created by mixing espresso with bites of pumpkin pie in a laboratory setting, with the addition of cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. The name "pumpkin spice latte" was chosen over "fall harvest latte" to create a clear and cozy brand identity. Today, the PSL is more than just a coffee drink – it’s a symbol of warmth and comfort, reminiscent of family and friends gathering around the Thanksgiving table.
