Box Office Report

The latest box office report for Great Britain and Ireland is out, and it’s filled with exciting numbers. The top five films for the weekend of August 29-31 are:

Top Five Films

  1. The Roses (UK-US) – Distributed by Disney, this film took the top spot with £2.2m from 694 locations, averaging £3,170 per location.
  2. Jaw (US) – Universal’s 50th-anniversary re-release of the classic film took second place with £1.1m from 679 locations, averaging £1,620 per location.
  3. Weapons (US) – Warner Bros’ horror thriller continued to perform well, taking £838,351 from an unknown number of locations, with a total of £10.4m after four weekends.
  4. The Evil 2 (US) – Universal’s film rose by 58% from its previous session, taking £807,222 with a total of £11.9m after six weekends.
  5. More Triggered Friday (US) – Disney’s film added £744,302 to its total, now standing at £7.4m after four weekends.

Other Notable Films

New Releases

  • Caught Theft (US) – Sony’s action film, starring Austin Butler, took £552,302 from 571 locations, averaging £973 per location.
  • The Fantastic Four: First Steps – Disney’s film took £505,024, adding to its total of £23.1m.

Continuing Films

  • Materialist – Sony’s film took £297,819 in its third weekend, with a total of £3.4m.
  • Jurassic World Rebirth – Universal’s film increased by 2% from its previous session, taking £269,057, with a total of £35.6m.
  • The Naked Gun – Paramount’s film added £255,000 in its fifth session, increasing its total to £7.2m.

Special Releases

  • Andre Rieu’s 2025 Maastricht Concert: Waltz Away at Night – The Dutch violinist’s concert film took £562,217 from 638 locations over Saturday and Sunday.
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – Warner Bros’ 20th-anniversary re-release took £311,383 from 431 locations, averaging £456 per location.
  • Colorful Stage! The Film: A Miku Who Cannot Sing – The Japanese animated music drama took £128,082 from 174 locations, averaging £736 per location.

  • Nobody 2 – Universal’s film fell by 56% in its third weekend, taking £108,694, with a total of £1.4m.
  • How to Train Your Kite – Universal’s film increased by 111% from its previous session, taking £103,675, with a total of almost £23m.
  • Chuck’s Life – Studiocanal’s film added £100,964 in its second weekend, with a total of £914,627.
  • Together – Entertainment Film Distributors’ horror film took £91,585 in its third weekend, with a total of £1.5m.
  • F1: The Film – Warner Bros’ film added £72,088 in its 10th weekend, with a total of £22.2m.
  • Eddington – Universal’s film fell by 69% in its second session, taking £63,830, with a total of £506,126.
  • Saaiyaara – Yash Raj Films’ romantic drama took £44,752 in its seventh weekend, with a total of £3.2m.
  • Toxic Avenger Uncut – Signature’s superhero horror comedy took £40,939 from 281 locations, averaging £146 per location.
  • Sorry, Baby – Picturehouse’s film took £38,735 in its second weekend, with a total of £188,885.
  • Young Mothers – Curzon’s drama took £7,863 from 20 locations, averaging £393 per location.
  • Little Effort Girl – The BFI’s drama took £7,844 over the weekend, with a total of £10,863 including previews.
  • Dogtooth – Vertigo’s 4K restoration of Yorgos Lanthimos’ film took £3,663 from 28 locations, averaging £131 per location.
