Introduction to Hedley Studios
A company that produces miniaturized electrical versions of classic cars has received a rescue contract headed by an American trading bank. The future of Hedley Studios, formerly known as Little Car Company, was recovered by a pre-pack administration deal.
History of Hedley Studios
Hedley Studios was founded in 2018 when luxury car maker Bugatti turned to Ben Hedley to reproduce a type 35 racing car from the 1920s at half scale to celebrate its 110th anniversary. In the past 17 months, the company has built and delivered over 500 vehicles to customers in more than 60 countries.
Products and Services
The Hedley Studios produces its cars at three-quarters the size of the original model, with the resulting vehicles usually costing £75,000 or more. The company produces its cars in collaboration with a number of luxury manufacturers, including Aston Martin, Bentley, and Ferrari.
Investment and Partnership
The company has been acquired by a company controlled by the Island Capital Group, with FRP Advisory acting as the administrator. Ben Hedley, founder of Hedley Studios, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Island Capital Group as a strategic partner in the next phase of the company’s growth. Andrew Farkas, founder, chairman, and CEO of Island Capital, stated that the latest investment is proof of the entrepreneurial spirit of Ben and his team in building a successful British luxury brand in a short time.
Future Prospects
The investment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hedley Studios, strengthening its position as a leader in creating luxury, drivable art. The company is expected to accelerate its expansion and reach a new global audience, with worldwide automotive enthusiasts increasingly interested in honoring historical icons and bringing them to a new audience in a new, fully electric way.
