Vacation Habits
Dining Preferences
When on vacation, people tend to prefer a familiar dining experience. Not only do they want the food to be similar to what they are used to, but they also prefer to stick to their regular meal times. In fact, 27 percent of surveyed individuals prefer to dine at 6 o’clock, just like they do at home.
Sticking to Routine
In addition to familiar food and dining times, many people also try to maintain their usual routine while on vacation. This includes keeping their usual daily schedule and not wanting to adopt the local “biological watch.” People in their thirties and forties are particularly fond of sticking to their routine, with 36 percent preferring to keep their usual rhythm even when abroad.
Cultural Immersion
However, not everyone agrees that sticking to routine is the best way to experience a vacation. Some argue that trying new things and immersing oneself in the local culture is all part of the charm of traveling abroad. By doing things differently than they do at home, travelers can truly experience the unique aspects of a foreign culture and make their trip more memorable.
