Introduction to a Unique Basketball Card

A unique basketball map with photos, autographs, and game patches by Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant is expected to sell for a stunning $6 million in an auction, making it the most expensive Hoops card ever sold.

The Card’s Features

The 2007 Upper Deck Dual Logoman, signed in blue ink by the two basketball legends, features a patch from Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers jersey and one from Jordan’s legendary championship win with the Chicago Bulls in 1997.

Rarity of the Card

Bryant only signed 11 Dual Logomans before his tragic death in a helicopter accident in 2020, and this is the only one he ever signed with Jordan, whose signature appears on only eight Dual Logomans. This rarity is attracting significant attention from collectors.

The Auction

The collector’s piece is the headliner of Heritage Auctions’ Summer Platinum Night Sports Sale, which also features a Stephen Curry Logoman expected to exceed $2.9 million. The current record for the most expensive Hoops card sold is $5.9 million, set in July 2021.

Other Notable Items in the Auction

Other notable items in the auction include a massive 8×8 foot piece of the United Center basketball court, home of the Chicago Bulls during Jordan’s dynasty in the 1990s. The court piece, signed by Jordan with a 32-inch signature, is expected to sell for up to $500,000.

Baseball Memorabilia

The auction also features baseball royalty, including a game-worn 1960 New York Yankees jersey by Mickey Mantle, expected to sell for $4 million, and Babe Ruth’s 1923 World Championship watch, which could fetch $3 million.

Historical Significance

A team-signed Yankees photo from 1927 with 45 players could collect $200,000. This team is generally considered one of the greatest in Yankees franchise history and possibly the entire history of baseball. The auction director describes the interest in these items as "astronomical," highlighting their significance in the world of sports memorabilia.
