Bruce Springsteen’s Biopic: A Personal and Painful Journey
Bruce Springsteen has revealed how it feels to have Jeremy Allen White represent him in his upcoming biopic. The film, directed by Scott Cooper, focuses on the time Springsteen spent recording his 1982 album "Nebraska". This album is deeply personal and tells stories of some of the most painful days of Springsteen’s life.
The Making of the Film
Springsteen mentioned that there was "something unusual" about seeing the project come to life, especially since it touches on some of the most painful days of his life. He said, "I mean, there is some unusualness because the film, in a way, contains some of the most painful days of my life." He added that he would take the time to attend filming if a scene was particularly personal.
Springsteen’s Involvement in the Film
Springsteen wanted the actors to feel completely free, so he chose not to be on set for most of the filming. He said, "Well, some of the scenes, I wasn’t there. I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I didn’t want to get in the way, and that’s how I would just stay at home." However, if the director, Scott Cooper, needed him for something, Springsteen would make an effort to be there.
A First Look at the Film
The first footage from the biopic was debuted at Cinemacon earlier this year, and the official trailer was released recently, giving audiences a first look at Jeremy Allen White’s portrayal of Springsteen. The trailer includes a performance of Springsteen’s beloved single "Born to Run".
The Cast and Crew
It’s no secret that Springsteen and his long-time manager and record producer, Jon Landau, were involved in the making of the film. The singer often visited the film’s set, and when asked what it was like to have someone play him, he joked, "I’m sure it’s much worse for the actor than for me." Jeremy Allen White was very tolerant of Springsteen’s presence on set, and Springsteen appreciated his understanding.
The Film’s Release
The film, adapted from Warren Zanes’ book of the same name, is set to be released in cinemas on October 24th. The cast includes Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, and Paul Walter Hauser, among others. Springsteen’s biopic is expected to be a poignant and powerful portrayal of his life and career.
