Introduction to the 2025 BET Awards
The 2025 BET Awards are currently underway in Los Angeles, celebrating Black Excellence in music, television, film, and sports. This year’s ceremony, hosted by Kevin Hart, is being held at the Peacock Theater in the city center and marks the 25th anniversary of the event.

Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations with 10, including Album of the Year and Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. Other notable nominees include Doechii, Drake, Future, and Glorilla, each with six nominations. Metro Boomin, Sza, and The Weeknd follow with five and four nominations, respectively.
BET Experience Fan Festival
In celebration of the 25th anniversary, BET organized a BET Experience fan festival at the Los Angeles Convention Center throughout the week. Despite recent protests and increased police presence in the area, the show’s organizers have confirmed that the ceremony will proceed as planned.
Powerful Speech and Performances
After winning the first award of the night for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Doechii delivered a powerful speech condemning the "ruthless attacks" and addressing President Donald Trump’s actions. The ceremony features performances by Glorilla, Ledisi, Leon Thomas, Lil Wayne, Playboi Carti, Teyana Taylor, Mya, Keyshia Cole, B2K, and more, including a tribute to the iconic 106 & Park.
Celebrity Attendees and Honorees
The event has drawn celebrities like Keke Palmer, Shaboozey, Tyler Perry, Jennifer Hudson, and more. Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, and Kirk Franklin are being honored with the Ultimate Icon Award.
