Introduction to Chat Cards

What are Chat Cards?

The concept of chat cards, also known as Kletskaartjes, was developed to strengthen the bond between parents and children. These cards, available both physically and in a mobile app, were created in collaboration with psychologists and educators. They feature questions and tasks designed to be completed by parents and children together, facilitating conversations that might not occur in everyday life.

Purpose of Chat Cards

The primary goal of these cards is to foster openness and help children better manage stimuli and emotions. By discussing specific topics and feelings, parents can gain a deeper understanding of their child’s thoughts and emotions, promoting a stronger, more supportive relationship.

Example Questions

Some examples of questions found on these cards include “What have you been doing lately that you’re proud of, and how did you feel about it?” and “When did you last think, ‘Wow, I’m really proud of myself?’ What was so special about that?” These questions are designed to spark meaningful conversations between parents and children, encouraging them to share their feelings and experiences in a comfortable and supportive environment.
