Introduction to Dr. Fran Haydanek

A 37-year-old doctor has become a social media influencer, earning more money online than her annual salary of $300,000. Dr. Fran Haydanek, an obstetrician-gynecologist, completed her medical education at the Erie-Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017.

Transition to Social Media

In 2021, Dr. Fran started publishing educational videos on TikTok to combat misinformation about reproductive health, including topics such as menopause, pregnancy, and birth control. Initially, she earned no money from social media, but by 2023, she began earning more than her salary through the TikTok Creator Fund.

Financial Success

So far, Dr. Fran has already earned her annual salary of $300,000 from social media in 2025. The additional income has enabled her to pay off her student loans and save for retirement. She has also been able to take two extra days off to spend more time with her children.

Background and Education

Dr. Fran became a fully qualified OB/GYN in 2017 after 10 years of education and training. She earned around $300,000 annually. She was always interested in medicine and science, and this field allowed her to help people while working in science every day.

Combating Misinformation

In 2021, Dr. Fran turned to social media after encountering "a lot of misinformation about birth and work." She began publishing educational videos on TikTok to correct misconceptions and provide more insights. Her goal was to address the misinformation and provide accurate information about reproductive health.

Earning Money on Social Media

In 2023, Dr. Fran started earning "a little money" from social media, which she tripled in 2024. She has exceeded her annual salary of $300,000 with her social media posts this year. The additional income has made her feel more secure, knowing that she can earn money even if she cannot work as a doctor.

Future Plans

Despite her financial success on social media, Dr. Fran says she will never quit her day job. She feels a strong sense of responsibility to be there for her patients and enjoys the work she does. She wants to encourage other doctors to be creative with their skills and earn extra income. Dr. Fran hopes to inspire other doctors to explore alternative options and be imaginative with their skills.
