Introduction to the Busan International Film Festival

The Busan International Film Festival has announced that it will be honoring the late actor Li Sun-Keon, famous for his role in "Parasite", during its meeting next October in South Korea. This was announced by the organizers of the largest event of seventh art in Asia yesterday.

Honoring a Legendary Actor

The festival said in a statement that Lee Sun-Keon will be awarded the Korean Film Award during the opening ceremony on October 2. According to the festival, Lee Sun-Keon "had entered the hearts of Korean and international cinema lovers". This award is a testament to his contributions to the film industry and his lasting impact on audiences worldwide.

Special Screenings and Tributes

During the festival, which will run until October 11, special screenings of six films and television works featuring the actor will take place. These include the Oscar-winning film "Parasite" (2019), which returns to the big screen, and part of the television series "My Mister" (2018). These screenings will give fans a chance to revisit some of Lee Sun-Keon’s most notable roles and celebrate his legacy.

Celebrating a Lasting Legacy

The festival’s tribute to Lee Sun-Keon is a celebration of his lasting legacy in the film industry. With a career spanning many years, Lee Sun-Keon has left an indelible mark on Korean and international cinema. The Busan International Film Festival’s honor is a fitting tribute to his memory and his contributions to the world of film.
