Investigation into Infant Formula
Background
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has launched an investigation into a series of cases involving infants.
Details of the Investigation
The investigation is focused on more than a dozen cases of botulism in infants. These cases have been linked to a specific brand of infant formula.
Affected Areas
The cases have been reported in 10 states across the country. The first cases were reported as early as August.
Recall of Infant Formula
As a precautionary measure, a voluntary recall of the infant formula has been issued. This is to prevent any further cases of botulism.
Current Status
There have been a total of 13 cases reported so far. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported in connection with these cases.
