Introduction to a New Horror-Fantasy Film

A new horror-fantasy film, The mouth of the oven, has begun production in the Dominican Republic. The film is directed by Colombian writer and director Felipe Vargas, known for his work on Rosario. It stars J.R. Ramirez, known for his roles in Performance and Manifest, and child actor Emilio Del Real.

The Story Behind the Film

The mouth of the oven is a reinterpretation of one of Colombia’s most popular folk tales. The story centers on the son of a lonely gold prospector who discovers a shadowy creature that offers a tempting but deadly route out of his impoverished town. This creature is brought to life using Autonomous FX, adding a thrilling element to the film.

Production Team

The film is produced by a team of experienced professionals, including Sterlyn Ramírez, Robina Riccitiello, Yvette Yates Redick, and Shaun Redick. Yuneidys Lachapell serves as the line producer, with Felix M. García, Kristen Riccitiello, Josh Peters, and Ramirez as executive producers. This team brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the project, ensuring its success.

Vision and Inspiration

According to producer Ramírez, "This project is a personal journey with historic Latin American roots, and I am excited to see this vision come to life with such a talented team led by a Colombian director – Felipe Vargas." The team aims to create an environment and story that are both frightening and emotionally resonant, capturing the interest of a wide audience while honoring the rich heritage of Latin American folklore.

The Director’s Perspective

Felipe Vargas is an aspiring filmmaker who has made a breakthrough with his thriller short film milk teeth, which has gained over 12 million views on YouTube. He recently made his feature film directorial debut with Rosario, a horror film released in theaters earlier this year. Vargas is also set to work on the film adaptation of Bob the Builder for Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel.

The Cast

J.R. Ramirez, known for his starring roles in Performance and Manifest, recently appeared in Netflix’s medical drama series Pulse and will be featured in the faith-based Amazon listing It’s not like that. He is represented by Gersh, Mathews Management, and attorney Lawrence M. Kopeikin. The combination of Ramirez’s talent and Vargas’s direction promises to deliver a captivating and thrilling film.
