New Action Film Project
Introduction to the Project
Walton Goggins has signed on to star opposite Amber Midthunder in an action film project by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad. The project was recently acquired from 20th Century Studios. As part of the takeover, James Cameron will serve as executive producer.
The Storyline
The film, titled "Painter", centers on a young woman who was trained from a young age and must use all the skills at her disposal to save her father after he is kidnapped. Midthunder, who starred in 20th Century’s Predator film "Prey", plays the young woman. Goggins will play the father.
The Production Team
Garrett Warren, an experienced stunt coordinator who has worked with Cameron on two Avatar films and films like "Logan" and the "Street House" reboot, is making his feature film debut with the project. Drew Simon and Samspeir of FilmNation production company Infrared Pictures will produce "Painter" alongside Kolstad and his manager Josh Adler. JR Young will oversee the project for 20th Century.
The Cast
Midthunder had a busy year, appearing alongside Jack Quaid in the Paramount action film "Novocaine" and in A24’s Thriller "Opus" opposite Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich. She will next be seen as one of the stars of the series adaptation of the Stephen King novel "Carrie" for Prime Video. Goggins is in the midst of a peak year, with a highlight performance in HBO’s third season of "The White Lotus", earning him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Upcoming Projects
Goggins also reprised his role in the fourth and final season of "The Righteous Gems" and appeared in the film "The Uninvited One", directed by his wife Nadia Conners. He will next reprise his fan-favorite role of Ghoul in Amazon’s successful and acclaimed video adaptation "Stand Out", with season two premiering on Amazon on December 17th.
