Ace Frehley’s Passing

Ace Frehley, the legendary guitarist and co-founder of the rock band KISS, has passed away at the age of 74. He died on Thursday in New Jersey after a recent fall at home. His family stated that he was surrounded by loving and caring thoughts when he left this earth.

Early Life and Career

Frehley founded KISS in 1973 with singer Gene Simmons, guitarist Paul Stanley, and drummer Peter Criss. The band became famous for their memorable face paint, elaborate stage outfits, and lively shows with plenty of pyrotechnics. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

Tributes from Fellow Musicians

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons wrote a joint statement, saying, "I am devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an indispensable and irreplaceable rock soldier in some of the band’s most defining founding chapters and history. He remains a part of the KISS legacy." Bruce Kulick, who played with KISS from 1984 to 1996, also paid tribute to Frehley on Instagram, calling him "one of a kind and truly an iconic guitarist."

Solo Career and Legacy

Frehley played on KISS’ first nine albums before leaving the band in 1982. He later returned for the group’s 1998 reunion album, Psychocircus, but left again in 2002. Throughout his career, Frehley released nine solo studio albums. His influence on rock music is undeniable, and he will be deeply missed by fans and fellow musicians alike.

Reactions from the Music Industry

The Kennedy Center, where Frehley was set to be honored this year, released a statement saying, "We extend our deepest condolences to his friends, family, and millions of fans worldwide." The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame also paid tribute to Frehley, calling him a "co-founder and original guitarist of 2014 Inductees KISS." Other musicians, including Bret Michaels and the band Pearl Jam, took to social media to share their memories and condolences.

Remembering Ace Frehley

Gibson, the iconic guitar brand, released a statement saying, "Thank you for decades of music inspiring generations with your electrifying guitar work and unforgettable stage presence." As the music world mourns the loss of Ace Frehley, his legacy will live on through his music and the countless fans he inspired throughout his career.
