Introduction to the Faith & Media Impact Report

The entertainment industry is filled with talented individuals who create compelling stories centered around faith and spirituality. To recognize these storytellers, Variety’s Faith & Media Impact Report is set to be released on December 3rd. This report highlights a thriving segment of the industry that showcases creative experiences to a broad audience.

What to Expect from the Report

The list will feature directors, writers, creators, studio heads, and others who have made a significant impact in the world’s major faiths and spiritualities over the past year. These individuals will be recognized for their authentic reporting and storytelling, which have resonated with audiences worldwide.

Past Honorees and Their Achievements

Past Impact Report honorees include notable figures such as Mahershala Ali, Jesse Eisenberg, Jon Erwin, and Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten, as well as Sarah and Erin Foster, Sterlin Harjo, and Charley Humbard. These individuals have made significant contributions to the entertainment industry, showcasing the importance of faith and spirituality in storytelling.

This Year’s Ceremony and Honors

This year’s list will be featured in the December 3 issue of Variety and will be honored at the second annual Variety Faith and Spirituality in Entertainment Honors, presented by the Coalition for Faith and Media (CFAM). The ceremony will also recognize individuals who support the often underrepresented theme of belief in storytelling with CFAM’s 2025 Visionary Awards.

The Visionary Awards and Their Significance

The Visionary Awards celebrate diverse representations of faith and spirituality that are broadly compelling and nuanced. Previous winners of these awards include Viola Davis & Julius Tennon, Erica Lipez, Arian Moayed, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Jay Shetty. These awards aim to recognize and promote storytelling that showcases the complexity and richness of faith and spirituality.

How to Get Involved

The deadline for entries is October 29th. Candidates or their representatives can find out more details and submit their relevant qualifications to be considered for the Faith & Media Impact Report and the Visionary Awards. This is an opportunity for individuals to be recognized for their contributions to the entertainment industry and to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of faith and spirituality in storytelling.
