Introduction to Take Me Home

The film "Take me home" has finalized its cast and completed filming for its 2026 Tribeca Festival premiere. This debut feature is a winner of the AT&T Untold Stories award at the 2025 Tribeca Festival. The movie is based on a proof-of-concept short film of the same name that premiered at Sundance in 2023 and won the Grand Jury Prize at the American Cinematheque’s 2024 PROOF Film Festival.

The Storyline

"Take me home" tells the story of Anna, a 38-year-old Korean adoptee with a cognitive disability who cares for her elderly parents as they try to balance and tend to each other’s needs. When a Florida heat wave disrupts her routine, Anna’s future becomes uncertain until she creates a thriving world of her own. The film explores themes of family, love, and resilience.

Production and Funding

The film is part of the AT&T Untold Stories program, which awards funding each year to an emerging filmmaker to produce a feature film. The program also offers mentorship, industry support, and a guaranteed premiere at the next year’s Tribeca Festival. The main production price for the 2026 Tribeca Festival will increase from $1 million to $1.2 million. Submissions for the 2026 Untold Stories program are open until February 6th.
