Introduction to Kylie Jenner’s Music Debut
Kylie Jenner has officially entered the music scene as a featured singer on a new single from Terror Jr titled "Fourth Strike." This single is a sequel to Terror Jr’s song "Three Strikes," which was featured in an ad campaign for the launch of Kylie Cosmetics lip glosses nearly a decade ago.
The Song "Fourth Strike"
To celebrate this milestone, Jenner was featured on "Fourth Strike" and sings a small snippet at the end of the song. Her verse includes the lines, “One beat, two beats, let me set the mood right,” and she raps in the song’s bridge, “Do it on purpose, just to see how it ends.” She ends her verse by whispering her supposed stage name, “King Kylie.”
The "King Kylie" Alter Ego
The song is used in a new commercial for Kylie Cosmetics, which is based on the teal images of "King Kylie" – the edgy alter ego Jenner launched in 2014, the same year she began conceptualizing her beauty company. Over the weekend, Jenner announced that she would be relaunching some of her signature Kylie Cosmetics products from that era under the "King Kylie" banner.
The Commercial and Upcoming Projects
In the commercial, Jenner shows off her acting skills and plays a newly released prisoner. Her mother, Kris Jenner, picks her up in a black convertible and the two drive off into the sunset. Jenner expressed her gratitude to her fans, stating that the "King Kylie" collection is really for them and that they are the reason her biggest cosmetic dreams came true. Fans will soon see more of Jenner’s acting when she appears in Charli XCX’s upcoming A24 film The Moment, directed by Aidan Zamiri and starring Alexander Skarsgard, Rachel Sennott, Shygirl, and more.
Terror Jr and Their History
Terror Jr consists of singer Lisa Vitale and David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine (Felix Snow left the group at the end of 2017). The first song the group released was "Three Strikes", which they first featured in the Kylie Cosmetics lip gloss commercial. At the time, few people knew who Terror Jr. was, and their image encouraged this approach, as there were no faces or names attached to the music. Several fans assumed that Jenner was the main singer, but Jenner denied the rumors on Snapchat and stated that she was not involved in the music. The group announced their identity following the release of their debut EP, Bop City, in late 2016.
