Introduction to Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Marvel Animation has announced that the second season of the popular animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, will arrive on Disney+ in fall 2026. This exciting news was revealed at New York Comic Con, where fans were treated to a trailer that showcased what’s to come in the new season.
What to Expect in Season 2
The trailer revealed that Season 2 will introduce Venom symbiote Gwen Stacy and bring back Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. It also featured the return of Norman and Harry Osborn, as well as villains such as Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, and Scorpion. Additionally, the emergence of Nico Minoru’s magical powers will be explored, as hinted at in the trailer.
The Animated Series
Hudson Thames voices Peter Parker in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which debuted on Disney+ in early 2025. The animated series is set in a different universe than Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the MCU, and there are many key differences between the two wall-crawlers. For example, instead of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark mentoring the young Peter Parker, Norman Osborn (voiced by Colman Domingo) takes on this role. Norman is the CEO of Oscorp and gives Peter and his friends internships, but his true motives are suspicious.
Characters and Cast
The series features a unique cast of characters, including influencer Harry Osborn (Zeno Robinson) and secret witchcraft user Nico Minoru (Grace Song). The cast also includes Eugene Byrd as the young version of the classic Spider-Man villain Tombstone, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius, and Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May. Additionally, Aleks Le plays Amadeus Cho, and Jonathan Medina plays the villain Scorpion.
Season 1 Recap
Season 1 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man ended with several cliffhangers. Doctor Strange (Robert Atkin Downes) helped Spidey fight the alien symbiote Venom after it arrived from another dimension. Norman Osborn secretly kept a piece of the symbiote to experiment with. It was also revealed that Peter’s father, Richard, long thought dead, is actually alive and in prison. These plot twists will likely be explored in more depth in the upcoming season, and fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Season 2 to see what’s next for their favorite web-slinger.
