The death of Diane Keaton has rocked Hollywood, especially the romantic comedy scene. The actress was 79 years old. A Tribute from Goldie Hawn
Her other co-star on First Wives Club, Goldie Hawn, posted a lengthy tribute to the actress, saying, among other things, “Diane, we’re not ready to lose you. You left us a trail of fairy dust filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination. How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to “shut up,” darling. There was and will not be anyone like you.” Hawn concluded: “Let your fairy dust shine up there, girlfriend. Steve Martin and Kimberly Williams Paisley Pay Tribute
Keaton’s Father of the Bride co-star, Steve Martin, paid tribute to the late actress on Instagram, sharing a quote from an interview with Martin and his frequent colleague Martin Short. He said: “I don’t know who posted this first, but it sums up our wonderful relationship with Diane.” Kimberly Williams Paisley, who played Keaton’s daughter in Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II, also shared her thoughts on Instagram. “Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life. You are one of a kind and it was exciting to be in your orbit for a while. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent and most of all your laughter.”
Hollywood Remembers Diane Keaton
Keaton was not only known for her romantic comedies, but also appeared in other films like The Godfather and also had a handful of directing credits under her belt. The actress directed two episodes of Twin Peaks as well as the music video for Belinda Carlisle‘s Heaven is a place on earth. Carlisle said, She was friendly and eccentric and I was lucky to know her. RIP Diane, we will miss you.

Keaton’s long-time friend and Hollywood director Paul Feig remembered the late actress, saying, “It was a great honor to call Diane Keaton a friend. She was an incredibly kind and creative person who also happened to be a Hollywood legend. She was taken from us far too soon. We’ll miss you, Diane.” The Oscar winner is also remembered by Jennifer Tilly, who starred in “Sister Mary Explains It All” with Keaton and said, She was a truly unique individual. What a loss.
Tribeca Film Festival and Sharon Lawrence Pay Tribute
Tribeca Film Festival officials also remembered Keaton, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Diane Keaton, a singular force whose talent, spirit and style graced our screens for over five decades.” Sharon Lawrence shared an excerpt from the 1981 film RED, in which Keaton starred, and said, “Oh no, what a sad day.” Diane Keaton was unique. Such a unique part of women’s development. A modern icon… now forever. Thank you for everything.
