Introduction to a Royal Collaboration

Author Peter James has made a shocking revelation that Queen Camilla has expressed interest in being a central character in his upcoming novel. This unique collaboration came about after the Queen showcased her fondness for James’ work in an interview with the Daily Mirror, where she had two of his books on display.

A Royal Fan

James discovered that he had a royal fan after the interview and immediately wrote to the Queen to express his gratitude. The Queen responded, revealing that she had read all of his published novels. This exchange led to a remarkable opportunity for James, as the Queen had previously set up a book club during lockdown in her former role as Duchess of Cornwall, and James was one of the chosen authors.

From Brighton to London

The Queen suggested that James take his main character, Roy Grace, from Brighton to London in his next novel. However, James decided to take it a step further by including the Queen as a character in his book. This decision was inspired by the Queen’s request to set a novel in London, and James saw an opportunity to create an exciting storyline.

A Royal Request

James recalled that the Queen wrote to him, asking when he would be setting a novel in London. He was aware of the palace renovations and the movement of art, which sparked an idea for his new book. James drafted a few lines and sent them to the palace, and the Queen approved the concept.

Setting the Scene

To ensure the accuracy of the royal setting, James was given a three-and-a-half hour tour of Buckingham Palace. This tour helped him set the scene for his new book, which features Roy Grace traveling on the royal train from East Sussex to London. The train derails, and the Queen helps the passengers to safety.

The Upcoming Novel

The new book, titled "The Hawk is Dead," is scheduled to be released in October. James’ collaboration with the Queen has resulted in a unique and thrilling storyline that is sure to captivate readers. With the Queen’s seal of approval, James’ latest novel is set to be a bestseller.
