Dolly Parton’s Health Concerns
Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, has asked the legendary singer’s fans to pray for her after she postponed her upcoming concerts in Las Vegas due to health reasons. The news comes after Dolly announced last month that she was "struggling with some health problems" and that her doctors had advised her to "undergo some interventions."
A Call to Prayer
Freida took to Facebook to share an update about her sister’s health, writing, "Last night I was awake all night and prayed for my sister Dolly. Many of you know that she was not doing well lately." She expressed her belief in the power of prayer and asked fans to join her in praying for Dolly’s recovery. Freida’s message was filled with love and optimism, as she stated, "She is strong, she is loved, and despite all the prayers that are levied for her, I know in my heart that she will be fine."
Postponed Concerts
The "Jolene" singer was originally scheduled to perform six shows from December 4th to 13th at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace as part of her Dolly: Live in Las Vegas residency. However, these performances have now been postponed to September 17th to 26th, 2026. Although Dolly has not publicly disclosed the nature of her health problems, she has assured fans that she is not ready to give up on her career just yet.
A Message from Dolly
In a previous statement, Dolly said, "Don’t worry that I will give up the business, because God has not yet said that I should not stop. But I think he tells me that I should now be slower so that I am ready for more great adventures with all of you." This message suggests that Dolly is taking a step back to focus on her health and well-being, but she is not ready to retire from the entertainment industry.
Upcoming Events
Dolly will also be absent from the 16th Governors Awards of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she was set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award on November 16 in Hollywood. Fans are sending their well-wishes and prayers to Dolly during this challenging time, and they look forward to her return to the stage when she is feeling better.
