Introduction to Sean "Diddy" Combs’ Case

Sean "Diddy" Combs has submitted a letter to the judge, less than 24 hours after his mercy in his federal case. In the letter, Combs apologizes for his past mistakes and takes full responsibility for his actions.

Apology and Accountability

The Mogul wrote a four-sided letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, asking for leniency in his conviction. "First and foremost, I would like to apologize and say how kindly I sincerely do myself for all the pain and pain I caused by my behavior," he wrote. Combs understands that speaking "I am sorry" will never become good enough, since the words "cannot extinguish the pain from the past".

Reflection on Past Mistakes

Combs reflects on his time in prison over the past 13 months and explained that "the scene and pictures of me play in my head every day. I literally lost my mind." He explains that he has resigned himself to his previous behavior and takes responsibility for it. "I lost my way. I got lost on my trip. In the drugs and the excess. My fall was rooted in my selfish. I was humble and broken into the core."

Request for Mercy

Combs asks for mercy from the judge and says he wants to be a good father for his seven children and be the main supervisor for his sick mother again. "Today I am humbly asking you for another chance – another chance of being a better father, another chance of being a better son, another chance of being a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life," he explained.

Sentencing and Outcome

At the beginning of this week, the public prosecutor demanded that Combs be sentenced to at least 11 years in prison. Combs’ Counsel reinforced her request for 14 months, which would free him by the end of the year, including the time already served. On Tuesday, Judge Subramanian competed for Combs for a new negotiation or a new acquittal. Combs is to be convicted at 10 a.m. and is expected to speak directly to the judge during the conviction.
