Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Concerts Due to Health Challenges
Dolly Parton has announced that she is postponing her upcoming concerts in Las Vegas due to health challenges. The Country Music legend made the announcement on Instagram, where she explained that she needs to undergo a few medical procedures.
A Message to Her Fans
In her Instagram post, Parton wrote, "I want the fans and the public to hear from me that unfortunately I have to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I dealt with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I have to have a few procedures." She joked about needing her "100,000 examination," but ultimately explained that she needs to take care of her health before she can perform.
The Impact on Her Shows
Parton had announced in June that she would be performing a limited engagement at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace, with six shows scheduled from December 4th to 13th. The tickets had sold out in less than two hours, but now the shows will be postponed to next year. The new dates will take place starting from September 26th, and tickets for the original dates will still be valid. Refunds will also be available for those who cannot attend the new dates.
About the Concerts
The concerts, titled "Dolly: Live in Las Vegas," were supposed to be a special event, marking Parton’s first extended run in Las Vegas in 32 years. According to a press release, the shows would be "a driven concert event that will bring the global superstar Dolly Parton back to Vegas." Parton had expressed her excitement about the shows, saying, "To say that I am excited would be an understatement. I haven’t worked Vegas in years and have always loved singing there."
Other Recent News
This is not the first time Parton has had to cancel or postpone events due to health issues. Earlier this month, she missed the opening of a new attraction at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee due to a kidney stone. Additionally, her husband of almost 60 years, Carl Dean, passed away at the age of 82 earlier this year. Despite these challenges, Parton is still scheduled to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award on November 16 and has a musical, "Dolly: An Original Musical," set to open on Broadway next year.
