Introduction to the Summit 2025

The Summit 2025, focusing on "Building in Great Britain’s global success," has announced its lineup of meetings and speakers. All meetings for the event, set to take place on September 30th, were presented at BFI Southbank beforehand.

Keynote Speech and Morning Meetings

The summit kicks off with a Keynote speech from BFI managing director Ben Roberts. The morning sessions will feature discussions on various topics, including:

  • Pioneering producers: Iain Canning (See-Saw Films), Ed Guiney (Element Pictures), and Liza Marshall (Hera Pictures) will share their insights.
  • The Future of public film financing: Eva Yates (BBC film), Farhana Bhula (Film4), and Mia Bays (BFI) will delve into the future of financing in the film industry.
  • Equity financing, cash management, and navigation contracts and IP rights: Charles Auty (Elevate Production Finance), Luke Carey (Lee & Thompson), and Sarah Gooding (CentTrip) will provide expertise on these crucial aspects of film production.

Afternoon Sessions

After lunch, the summit will cover:

  • Change of sales landscape: Celine Rattray (Maven Screen Media), David Garrett (Mister Smith Entertainment), Gabrielle Stewart (Hanway films), Mike Goodridge (good chaos), and Vanessa Saal (MK2 films) will discuss the evolving sales landscape in the film industry.
  • UK Studios: Debbie Adler (Garden Studios), Gerwyn Evans (Great Point Studios), and Kate Phibbs (Film Soho) will talk about the current state and future of UK studios.
  • The reality of being a UK independent producer: Andy Paterson (virtual circle), Helen Simmons (Erebus Pictures), and Sarah Brocklehurst (Brock Media) will share their experiences and challenges as independent producers in the UK.

Final Session and Networking

The last session will feature Top sales managers discussing the developing market for British film, with John Friedberg (Black Bear), Kezia Williams (Universal Pictures International), and Zygi Kamasa (True Brit Entertainment) participating. This will be followed by networking drinks, providing attendees with an opportunity to connect with industry professionals.
