Meta Launches New Hi-Tech Glasses
Meta has launched a series of new hi-tech glasses on the market. The new specifications were presented at the Meta Connect event by Mark Zuckerberg, along with a brilliant AI that can create every video game imaginable.
Meta-Ray-Ban Display Glasses
The Meta-Ray-Ban display glasses have an integrated screen that is invisible to the outside world. This means that nobody can see what you are looking at, but you can still see what’s going on behind the overlays. The glasses can show you apps, such as WhatsApp chains, Instagram roles, or your camera manufacturer, that hover in your field of vision. You can even use it to see live image signatures about the face of someone who speaks to you.
The glasses come with a Meta neural band that captures your wrist and tiny movements, allowing you to control what you see. You can tap your fingers to choose or roll your thumb to scroll. The glasses start at $799 and will be available in limited shops in the USA from September 13th, followed by publication in Great Britain in early 2026. They come in two colors, black and sand, with color-assisted Meta-neural bands that fit with them.
Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 Glasses
The regular Meta-Ray-Ban glasses have also been improved. The new Gen 2 version has double the battery life of the old model, according to Meta. It also offers 3K Ultra HD video recording and contains AI assistants that offer real-time translations and music playback. The glasses keep eight hours with "typical use" and can be charged up to 50% in 20 minutes, receiving an additional 48 hours of use.
There is also an upcoming conversation focus mode that increases the voice of the person you talk to, allowing you to hear them better in noisy environments. The new glasses are available for sale today and start at $379, with the Gen 1 version available for $299.
Meta Oakley Vanguard Glasses
Meta has teamed up with Oakley to create sports-friendly smart glasses. The new product category, called Oakley Meta Vanguard, is intended for high-intensity activities such as outdoor riding, mountain biking, and trail running. The glasses have an "action-ready camera" and a three-point system with three interchangeable nasal cushions for a secure fit.
The glasses also have Oakley Prizmtm Lens Tech to block the sun, wind, and dust, and integrated speakers and a five-microphone array to reduce wind noise. You can receive nine hours of battery life from a pair or six hours with continuous music playback. With the charging case, you get an additional 36 hours of load, with 50% recharging for the glasses in 20 minutes.
Meta AI for Creating Games
Meta has also shown a special tool that makes it easy to create your own video games. The tool uses AI to generate massive virtual worlds, play textures, audio, skyboxes, and characters by simply entering a few words. You can even generate custom voices for characters, give them personalities, and bring them to life in seconds.
With the AI, you can create game rules and systems, produce objects, and change what you’ve created during gameplay. You don’t need experience in coding, and you can simply chat with the AI to edit your game, which is generated automatically in a few seconds. Then, you can invite friends to play in a custom video game that would normally have taken thousands of hours to create.
