The highly anticipated event, "Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl," has sparked a frenzy among Swifties. The 89-minute celebration of Taylor Swift’s new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," has led to a surge in ticket sales, causing the AMC Theater app to experience high traffic volume.
The Frenzy Begins
On Friday, at 12:12 PM ET, ticket sales went live, and the AMC app was flooded with Swifties trying to secure their tickets. The app displayed a constant 2-minute estimation wait time, along with a message thanking users for their patience and encouraging them to visit an AMC theater near them or check back later.

An AMC spokesman acknowledged the overwhelming response, stating, "The power of the Swifties remains unsurpassed!" This statement highlights the dedication and enthusiasm of Taylor Swift’s fan base.
The Event Details
The special "Party" program will take place from October 3 to 5, featuring a large-scale version of Taylor Swift’s famous "Secret Sessions" album event. The event will showcase the premiere of the first music video from Swift’s 12th studio album, summarizing the song "The Fnet of Music." All 540 AMC theater locations will participate, and the event will also be expanded to thousands of non-AMC theaters across North America, including Cinemark and Regal locations.
Rules for the Event
While traditional theater rules usually prohibit singing and dancing, AMC guests will be allowed to do so during the Taylor Swift event. However, a press release from AMC notes that guests may not stand on seats or block any corridors or stairs to ensure everyone has a great viewing experience.
International Rollout
The event will kick off in the US on October 3 and will be accompanied by screenings in several other countries, including Canada, Mexico, the UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Tickets for these countries will go on sale next Tuesday. Other countries not included in this list will receive the film on a later weekend in October, with the exact dates to be announced on October 3.
