Jaden Smith was hired by Christian Louboutin as the creative director of the men and will be moving to Paris. In a recent announcement, Louboutin confirmed the news, stating that he would continue to oversee his men’s department, while the 27-year-old Smith will be responsible for the creative side of shoes, leather goods, and accessories, as well as developing campaigns, events, and diving experiences.
New Role
Smith will present his first designs in Paris in January during the men’s fashion week. He will be monitoring four collections a year. "This is one of the greatest honors of my life, and I have a lot of pressure to fulfill everything Christian did for the house and also to get into such a serious role," said the actor and rapper, who is the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Exclusive Candidate
Louboutin said Smith was the only candidate for the job. Smith’s appointment will allow Louboutin to expand his women’s business. Louboutin hopes to use Smith’s star power and almost 20 million Instagram followers to build up the men’s category, which accounts for 24% of the business but has recorded declines.
Creative Vision
"He has a way of seeing things, digesting things, changing that really combines with my functioning," said Louboutin. Smith’s creative vision and influence will be crucial in revamping the men’s category and bringing new energy to the brand. With his first designs set to debut in January, fans and fashion enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting Smith’s contribution to the world of fashion.
