Abu Dhabi’s Drone Development
Abu Dhabi carried out a test flight with a drone base from Al Samha to Khalifa Industrial Zone. The flight was carried out by Abu Dhabi Mobility in cooperation with Lodd Autonomous. The drone was equipped with a robot arm and an advanced navigation system.
Recent Drone Activities
This happens almost three months after a drone has delivered a package in Abu Dhabi with a WinCh-based system for the first time in Abu Dhabi. The June process was carried out in Khalifa City, where the drone provided a simulated package from a local post to a drop zone. The company was supported by Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and carried out by the aviation technology company Lodd and Logistics Holding Group 7x.
Future Plans
In the second half of 2026, Abu Dhabi’s Lodd will start with unmanned aircraft (UAVS) with parcel and freight deliveries. The services will be offered at a "fraction of the costs".
Drone Delivery in Dubai
Dubai started deliveries of medicinal products and packages by drones in October 2024. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Emirates (DCAA) awarded the first license for Keeta drone for the delivery of products in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DS) with six drones in the first stage.
Local Drone Production
With increasing drone needfulness, the manufacturer Eanan based in Dubai has the first factory to produce drones for commercial purposes in the United Arab Emirates. The aim is to soon avoid the international procurement of components and to switch to completely local production. The drones can then be sold to different countries for their unique needs and the UAE position as a leader in smart aviation.
