Introduction to the Latin Grammy Awards 2025
The Latin Recording Academy has announced the nominees for the Latin Grammy Awards 2025. This year’s nominations are led by global superstar Bad Bunny with 12 nominations, followed by producer Edgar Barrera and hip-hop duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, who each received 10 nominations.
Top Nominees
Bad Bunny’s 12 nominations include two nods for Record of the Year with "Baile Inolvidable" and "DTMF", both of which are also nominated for Song of the Year. His album "I had to take more photos" spent a month on Billboard’s 200 album charts and is now nominated for Album of the Year. Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso also received two nominations for Record and Song of the Year for their hits "El Dia del Amigo" and "#tetas", while their album "Papota" is nominated for Album of the Year.
Other Notable Nominees
Other artists nominated for Record of the Year include Jorge Drexler, Karol G, Natalia Lafourcade, and Zoe Gotusso. On the album side, nominees include Rauw Alejandro’s "Our thing", Gloria Estefan’s "Root", Vicente García’s "Yocahús dolch", and Natalia Lafourcade’s "Songbook". The remaining nominees for Song of the Year are "Bogotá", "Songbook", "Anoty Night of Wriding", "Palm Trees in the Garden", "I already know them", and "Veludo Marrom".
Best New Artist Category
The nominees for Best New Artist include Annasofia, Yerai Cortés, Juliane Gamboa, Camila Guevara, Isadora, Alex Luna, Paloma Morphy, Sued Nunes, and Ruzzi. These artists represent the diversity and wealth of Latin music, and their nominations are a testament to the growing global influence of the genre.
Award Ceremony Details
The final round of voting begins on October 1, and the award ceremony will take place on November 13th at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The ceremony will be broadcast on the US platforms of TelevisaUnivision at 8:00 p.m. According to Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, "The effects of Latin music continue to grow on a global level, and all nominated artists include their diversity and wealth and at the same time keep the legendary sounds that make our music unique."
