Introduction to Ross King’s Strictly Come Dancing Journey

Ross King, a Scottish entertainment reporter, is set to take the dance floor by storm in the 23rd series of the BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing. He will be representing his beloved Scotland, and he’s excited to include some traditional Scottish dances in his routines.

Ross King’s Background and Motivation

Ross is used to interviewing Hollywood stars from his base in LA, but he’s now ready to put himself in the spotlight. He still considers Glasgow his home and hopes to make his country proud. He’s always been patriotic and loves Scotland, so representing his country is a thrilling opportunity for him. Ross wants to bring a touch of Scotland to the show, including the Dashing White Sergeant and the Gay Gordons in his dances.

Preparing for the Show

Ross has proposed some Scottish artists, such as the Proclaimers, Lewis Capaldi, Paolo Nutini, Wet Wet Wet, and Simple Minds, as potential song options for his performances. He’s also been in touch with some of his Showbiz friends, including Scottish presenter Lorraine Kelly and former Strictly contestants Joe McFadden and Ranvir Singh, to get advice on how to prepare for the show.

The Strictly Experience So Far

So far, Ross has found the Strictly experience "wonderful." He loves the show and thinks it’s a great opportunity to learn a new skill and perform with the best professionals. Ross admits that he was shocked by how big the show is in the UK, but he’s excited to be a part of it. He’s feeling a bit intimidated by the experience, but he’s pleased to have been asked to take part.

Representing Scotland

Ross is keen to represent Scotland and make his country proud. He’s been enjoying some of his favorite Scottish dishes, including a "roll and slice," which he describes as the "Breakfast of Champions." He’s also been indulging in cut sausage, mashed potatoes, and beans, as well as haggis. Ross hopes that the whole experience will make him fitter and more confident.

The Upcoming Show

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday. Ross is ready to take on the challenge and perform in front of the judges, including the notoriously tough Craig Revel Horwood. He’s prepared to be "torn apart" by the judges, but he’s determined to do his best and make his country proud. With his positive attitude and enthusiasm, Ross is sure to be a hit on the show.
